It’s market day! They turned on the nice weather It’s market day! They turned on the nice weather for us, too 😎 I’ll be at @re_lovedmarket in Hobart til 2pm, with the tactile works I’ve designed and made x Steph
Letterpress was my gateway into design. In the fin Letterpress was my gateway into design. In the final year of my fine arts degree, I took a letterpress course that was also a deep dive into graphics, posters, print history, and typography. I was captivated.
.
Like the other projects I share here – textiles, home, garden – letterpress printing is a tactile process. For me, those physical projects are how I mitigate the ‘brain in a jar’ feeling I get from working on a screen all day. It’s a lot like baking, really. Follow steps, enjoy delicious results.
.
I’ll be at @re_lovedmarket this Saturday in Hobart with a few greeting cards, BUT I’m also pleased to say that if you sign up with @novelteabookclub for their December parcel, you might also see some letterpress goodies from me 😉 Literate tea lovers, this one is for you!

The @re_lovedmarket in Hobart has an interesting v The @re_lovedmarket in Hobart has an interesting vibe. It’s a flea market, but artsy and fashion-oriented. It’s curated, but unpretentious, because putting tickets on yourself is just not the done thing here in Australia’s littlest state. I printed these letterpress postcards to celebrate just how Perfectly Okay this place is and that there’s nothing wrong with that. See you on Saturday!

Tassie native floral love 🤍 The red pepperberry Tassie native floral love 🤍 The red pepperberry branches + the white lomatia blooms are looking fab in my city garden, if you ask me (while Mishka is just pleased to have one of her humans nearby). Fingers crossed for another gorgeous spring day at @re_lovedmarket this weekend 🤞🍃

Happy #NAIDOCweek everyone! I live on the island o Happy #NAIDOCweek everyone! I live on the island of lutruwita, which was (and is) originally inhabited by the muwinina people. The indigenous peoples of this continent have been its custodians for millennia, and it’s profoundly tragic that so much history and culture has been lost. The history of lutruwita / Tasmania is so much broader than British convict labour, sandstone buildings, and Devonshire tea (and knee-jerk NIMBY arguments about preserving ~our colonial heritage~ in Hobart always get a side-eye from me, just quietly).
.
I’m only one person throwing in my two cents to express solidarity (hint: proper reconciliation efforts need government backing) but yep: I support a happier, fairer Australia that encourages Indigenous cultures, languages and perspectives. 🖤💛❤️
Hello from my first market in 2 years! I underesti Hello from my first market in 2 years! I underestimated the breeze, hence my masks are tucked into the tablecloth like sleeping babies 😅Come on over and say hi at @re_lovedmarket, I’d love to see ya.

Mask Fact #2: My face masks include a stainless-st Mask Fact #2: My face masks include a stainless-steel nose piece. Shape it to match the contours of your nose and cheeks, and it’ll create a better air seal. When you exhale, you won’t get that warm air blowing into your eyes or onto your glasses. 🤓 The nose piece is durable and washable. And if it doesn’t work for you - just slide it out.
.
If you’re in Hobart, come visit me at @re_lovedmarket on Saturday! I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling extra grateful for our current island of calm, even if we don’t know what’s yet to come.

I use my sewing machine to make fun stuff like wal I use my sewing machine to make fun stuff like wall hangings, but then 2020 came around and my friends started asking if I make face masks. I do! They’re in my shop, and if you’re in Hobart you can visit me at @re_lovedmarket this Sat and have a look-see for yourself.
.
Mask Fact #1: Each mask has 2 layers of fabric, including a sleeve for adding extra filtration, and adjustable soft elastics that won’t feel scratchy on your ears. My family has been road-testing these bad boys and the comfort level is the first thing they mention. The best mask is one that you’ll actually wear, right?
