Apparently I get a thrill out of sifting through others’ weird old rubbish, because my house sure has a lot of it. We’ve bought a handful of brand-new furnishings for our house, like our dining table and design-victim shell chairs, but I like thrifting for interesting secondhand pieces where possible. - Sometimes you’re busy, and you’d really like a cup of tea, but you don’t want to walk away from the computer for ten minutes while you wait for the stovetop kettle to boil (or worse, return to the study and forget about it, leaving it to make a shrieking racket until someone else hears it).
The fireplace in our study is all fixed up, and it even provides heat now! We gave this disused fireplace some cosmetic updates, and last week we had a heat pump installed inside of it. ICEBOX NO MORE.
